HUNTSVILLE CITY SCHOOL BOARD DISTRICT 4

Job's Not Finished

WORKING FOR US

UNITARY
STATUS

In his second term on the board, Ryan and the Board submitted 3 partial motions in 2025 (Faculty & Staff, Extracurricular, Facilities). A favorable ruling anticipated this year with a strategy to file the remaining 3 motions within 24–36 months to achieve full Unitary District designation.

FISCAL
RESPONSIBILITY

The district’s financial position has strengthened significantly over Ryan's two terms, with reserves growing from less than three months to more than 8.6 months, all while continuing to invest in people through four consecutive salary schedule increases for teachers and staff.

LONG RANGE
CAPITAL PLAN

The board approved a more than $600 million, 10-year capital plan to modernize and improve school facilities across the district. Building on that momentum, a dedicated long-range athletics capital plan is also being developed and is expected to be presented to the board in April 2026.

"Building momentum and finishing the work."

Ryan’s priorities for the next term are clear and results-driven:

  • Complete Unitary Status: Continue progress toward full unitary designation to strengthen equity and compliance across the district.

  • Deliver the Capital Plan: Ensure projects are completed on time and under budget, while planning for future facility and athletics investments.

  • Maintain Strong Leadership: Support and retain a high-performing administrative team to keep the district moving forward.

  • Plan for the Future: Establish clear succession plans and leave the district stronger, more stable, and prepared for long-term success.
